Work Description

Explores the fusion of various unique digital languages in contemporary art. Drawing inspiration from the ancient Chinese wisdom found in the Tao Te Ching, the series goes beyond the mundane world to depict the essence of Taoist concepts such as "The Invisible Dao." Through the use of digital sculpting and programming, the artwork constructs magnificent contemporary art influenced by Chinese traditional scholarship.

The series presents the Taoist concept of "The Invisible Dao." Digital language, as an abstract medium, condenses intangible thoughts and concepts into virtual sculptural forms. While these digital sculptures may not be perceptible through traditional touch, they take viewers to an abstract and transcendent realm, where they can perceive infinite possibilities and savor the mysteries of "The Invisible Dao." Through the uncertainty of programming, viewers become active participants rather than passive observers. The preferences and interpretations of viewers serve as the medium for the code, interweaving nature and human wisdom. This interactive experience conveys the harmony and coexistence embodied in the Taoist philosophy of "The Invisible Dao" and the cosmic resonance of "The Great Sound is Rare."

In this series, the concept of the unity of heaven and humanity is vividly portrayed. The traditional Chinese artistic treasure of landscape painting is reinterpreted through digital technology. The virtual landscape breaks down the barriers between reality and the virtual world, allowing viewers to immerse themselves in a seamless fusion with nature. In this virtual "Celestial Realm," human creativity intertwines with the mysterious forces of nature, creating a marvelous realm that transcends reality.

Expert Reviews

Chen Xiaochun (Director of Sculpture Department, Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts):

This series of works reflects the student's understanding and comprehension of traditional Chinese culture, and through the clever use of digital technology, activates the barrier between digital language and sculpture language. The highly tense expression technique, combined with the dreamy visual color, visualizes the ethereal concept of Taoism's "invisibility of the great road". It has both a contemporary sense of overall form and subtle concrete shapes, creating a sense of being in a magical realm for the viewer. In the current exploration of sculpture localization, how to incorporate digital technology into sculpture art has made positive explorations and attempts, which is a work worth savoring.
